Special Handloom Expo concludes

IMPHAL, Apr 13: The 14 days Special Handloom Expo, 2020-21 at Nilakuthi Urban Haat was concluded today.
The closing ceremony of the expo organised by Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans Cooperative Society Limited (AWAS) was attended by Sukumar Haobam, senior design consultant, Bamboo Forum; Ph Indira, board of directors, AWAS and L Barni as presidium members.
The expo is sponsored by office of the Development Commissioner under the Ministry of Textiles and a total of 40 stalls displayed different handloom items.
Sukumar Haobam said, such expo organised under National Handloom Development Programme is very beneficial to the society especially to the weavers and entrepreneurs by providing a marketing platform. He also added that weavers and artisans should also keep a check on quality and price of their products.
