IMPHAL, Apr 14 : WYC, Wangkhem overwhelmed RCA, Lilong by 48 runs to set up final date with Al-Ameen, Lilong in the Thoubal District T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Thoubal District Cricket Association under the supervision of MNCA.
WYC won the toss and opted to bat first in this last semi-final encounter at Moijing playground.
With Sangkar playing some good strokes enroute to his 41-ball 49 and Momocha's quick knock of 42 runs in 29 balls, WYC accumulated 159 for 7 in 20 overs. Mayur also gathered 26 runs for WYC before he fell on the 17th ball he faced.
The innings saw Nanao of RCA scalping three wickets and Razak claiming two wickets.
RCA's chase however began on a shaky note as all the top notch batsmen saving Basanta (45) departed on cheap scores. As Rajesh of WYC wreaked havoc and cruised to a three wicket haul for 12 runs, RCA slumped to 111 for 8 in 20 overs and handed WYC the final berth.
Lakhsmon of WYC was also successful in removing two RCA wickets conceding 19 runs in 3 overs while his team mates Mangi, Roshenkumar and Mayur fetched a wicket each.
Sangkar who led the scoring for WYC was named man of the match. The final date is however yet to be finalised.
