CYCLONE, TCMDC extend winning run in 3rd MNCA Luwangpokapa T-20 Trophy

IMPHAL, Apr 19 : TCMDC, Thongju and CYCLONE, Thangmeiband secured second successive group stage victories today at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground in the 3rd MNCA Luwangpokapa T-20 Trophy.
TCMDC who have beaten PSC, Khuyathong in their opening Group A league match, banked on Kalyan's four wicket haul feat to secure a 5 wicket win against RCA, Lilong Tairen Makhong today.
As Kalyan dismissed four and Babulu and Nganthoi scalped two wickets each, RCA bundled out for a meagre total of 67 runs in 16.4 overs after electing to bat first.
Alfash with 24 runs off 40 balls was the best the Lilong side got today.
Aziz Mirza of RCA was also clinical in his bowling and claimed three wickets conceding 10 runs in four overs, but could not stop TCMDC from securing 68 runs for 5 in 17.2 overs.
Although both the opening batsmen went off on 2 runs each, Nganthoi played a sensible innings and remained not out on 26 to lead his team to the victory.
Tondon (12) and Suraj (15) too made significant contributions in this otherwise low scoring encounter.
Later in the Group B league match, CYCLONE, having got the better of YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel earlier on April 15, continued their fine form to thrash KASC, Khomidok today.
KASC, after electing to bat first, bundled out for a paltry 33 run in 13.3 overs (total 20) as CYCLONE bowlers rattled across their batting line up.
Homendro of CYCLONE enjoyed a three wicket haul (for 4 runs in 3 overs) in this innings while Raju, Bikash and Kishan set up the demolition work by claiming two wickets each.
Narsingh Yadav (3), Ronald (12), Kishan (14 not out) and Manglemba (3 not out) then helped CYCLONE finish the chase on 37 in 7.4 overs with 8 wickets left in the hand.
Today's matches at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College Ground were postponed in view of the engagement of the ground for Oriental College Annual Sports Meet.
The dates and venues of the postponed matches due to rain and others will be notified shortly, the Manipur Cricket Association said in a statement.
