The Apunba Manipur Huyen Lanlong Lup (AMHLL) also observed the day at 7.30 am at its head office at Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai, Ayangpalli Road and across its all branches by offering floral tributes to gallant Paonam Naol (also known as Paona Brajabashi) and other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for Manipur's independence in 1891 (Anglo-Manipur War).
Lights will be offered at its head office and branch offices at night-time in honour of the brave souls, said the AMHLL in a statement.
The day was also observed at AMHLL branches in Karaikanda, Cachar, Leihao-pokpi, Jaribon in Assam.
A song dedicated to the freedom fighters "Khongjom Langi Lanphamda" was also released today at LAIHUI's office in collaboration with AMHLL, the statement said.
The Mangang, Luwang, Khuman Thang-Ta and Cultural  Sindamsang (MLKTTCS) too observed Khomjom Day at its training centre at Brahmapur Mangjil Mamang today.
The 7th observation programme organised by MLKTTCS was organised in the limited presence of Thang-Ta teachers, local elders and students who paid floral tributes to photo of Paona Brajabashi and other warriors who made supreme sacrifice for the motherland in the Khongjom War.
The committee for State Level Chief Minister's Indigenous Martial Arts in collaboration with members of Universal Friendship Organisation, Thangmeiband Branch, also observed Khongjom Day by offering floral tribute to the statue of Paona Brajabashi at Thangmeiband Cheirao Ching today.
Convenor of the State Level Chief Minister Indigenous Martial Arts, Ksh Bhakta led in paying homage to the freedom fighter, said a statement of the committee for State Level Chief Minister's Indigenous Martial Arts.
