The exit polls conducted by India Today-Axis My India on Thursday suggested the BJP-led alliance win in Assam.
India Today-Axis My India has given 75-85 seats to the BJP-led alliance and 40-50 seats to the Congress-led grand alliance in the State.
According to Republic TV, BJP is set to retain Assam with 74-84 seats. The channel has given 40-50 seats to Congress-led Mahajot. This time, there are two major alliances in the election. The one led by the BJP consists of the regional Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).
The Congress coalition—called ‘Mahajot’ (grand alliance)—includes Badru-ddin Ajmal’s AIUDF, the Anchalik Gana Morcha (AGM), the CPI (M), the CPI (ML), and RJD.
The BPF, which contested the 2016 election with the BJP, is this time back with Congress.
The BJP contested 92 seats and its allies AGP and UPPL contested 26 and eight seats respectively.
In West Bengal, exit polls have given the indication that it is the TMC under Mamata Banerjee which will return to power.  CNX-Republic Exit Poll predicts a photo finish in Bengal with TMC bagging 164 to 176 seats while the BJP comes behind with 105 to 115 seats. The Left and Cong combine is indicated to bag 10 to 15 seats.
