ASSA blank YDC 4-0 in Thoubal Super Division League opener

IMPHAL, Apr 5 : ASSA, Sangaiyumpham kicked off the Lambamayum Memcha Devi Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament organised by DFA Thoubal at Kodompokpi Sports Complex Wangjing with a comfortable 4-0 victory against YDC, Khoirom today.
ASSA dominated the game thoroughly and were 3-0 ahead  till the break riding on a brace by Md Asif before completing the 4-0 rout of YDC. Md Altaf opened up the scoring for the Sangaiyumpham side in the 11th minute before Md Asif scored twice back to back in the 33rd and the 42nd minute to make it 3-0 past their Khoirom rivals.
ASSA took their feet off the saddle after the break for a while until Samir made his way for the fourth and the decisive goal in the 62nd minute as YDC failed to put themselves together.
The tournament is participated by 7 teams. Tomorrow, DUC-Charangpat will face WYFC in the second match of the tournament at 1.30 pm before SWYC-Charangpat take on RPU, Papal at 3.30 pm.
