IE Super Divn Football League : PYA earn first win in three matches

IMPHAL, Apr 5 : PYA-Kairang pulled off a 3-1 win against UPAA-Kiyamgei after two losses in the ongoing Maharaj Kumar Ghanendrajit Super Division Football League Tournament at XI Star SU ground at Akampat today.
PYA got off to a flying start and led the first half 2-0 as UPAA defence were caught by surprise and eventually sealed the game 3-1 with another goal in the second half.
Md Amir gave PYA the headway with a fine strike in the 17th minute before his compatriot Rakeveiche found the second in the 24th minute.
After trailing behind by two goals till the break, UPAA entered the field with more purpose in the second half and pulled back a goal in the 39th minute via M Chungmei. They however failed to sustain pressure and off a fine opportunity Md Adalat gave PYA two goal cushion yet again in the 66th minute.
PYA then held off UPAA's late charges to finish the game 3-1 and secure their first win in three matches.
ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound will play USA, Khurai in the next match tomorrow at 2.15 pm.
