ESU thump USA 2-0 in IE Super Divn Football League

IMPHAL, Apr 6 : ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound sealed a comfortable 2-0 win against USA, Khurai today in the 10th match of the Maharaj Kumar Ghanendrajit Super Division Football League Tournament being underway at XI Star SU ground at Akampat.
ESU were seen dominating the game from the onset and led the first half 1-0 with P Naoba firing home the opener in the 15th minute.
USA which have been unable to find their form in the last two matches continued to struggle and failed to convert their chances and to pull even a single goal back.
After enjoying the slender 1-0 till for the major portion of the game, Himan helped ESU double the lead lately in the 77th minute.
The scoreline remained unchanged and ESU ultimately registered all three points.
XI-Star SU will play PYA Kairang in the next match tomorrow at the same venue.
PRYA win in IE 1st Divn League
Meanwhile, in a Group A league encounter of the Moirangthem Ibobi Memorial First Division Football League underway at the same spot,  PRYA, Khundrakpam posted a narrow 1-0 win against DOAK, Andro.
The two sides remained evenly matched through-out the game and almost settled the game in a goalless draw. However, a stoppage time goal (60+3') by M Luyumba helped PRYA seal all three points and shattered DOAK's expectation of sharing the spoils.
KSDC, Khomidok will take on Angtha FC in a Group B league match tomorrow at the same venue.
