SAK, UPAA split points in IE Super Divn League

IMPHAL, Apr 8 : SAK and UPAA played out a 2-2 draw today share the spoils in today's match of the Maharaj Kumar Ghanendrajit Super Division Football League being organised by the Imphal East District Football Association at XI-Star SU ground at Akampat.
SAK, Yumnam Khunou which had a dominating start, had to overcome late scare to salvage a 2-2 draw with the Kiyamgei team which managed to overturn the lead after the break.
With N Abhinash scoring a freak 3rd minute goal, SAK enjoyed a slender lead but Paramjit converted an additional time opportunity to help UPAA come to level term with SAK.
It was an end to end affair with both teams searching for the lead after the break and it was Ng Sona who completed the turnaround for UPAA in the 61st minute.
SAK upped the ante after the sudden tumble and almost conceded the game as UPAA slipped to defensive approach but N Shangker had his way to pull level for SAK just one minute away from time (69') and salvage a point.
S Pritamkumar (34) of SAK and PM Ruhit (65') of UPAA  picked up yellow cards in this evenly matched encounter.
ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound will take  on PYA, Kairang tomorrow in the next match.
CSC hold DOAK
Earlier in a Group A league encounter of the Moirangthem Ibobi Memorial 1st Division Football League Tournament which is also underway at the same venue, CSC, Chanung came from behind to hold DOAK, Andro to a 1-1 draw.
M Naren handed DOAK a narrow 1-0 lead till the first half and CSC found the equaliser in the 41st minute via Paominlun. The remainder of the game saw the two sides staging a series of offensive runs but lack of accuracy and intent held the two sides back and eventually ended up sharing a point each.
SSC, Sekta will face Angtha FC tomorrow in a Group B league match.
