IMPHAL, May 10 : The Phungyar Village Authority (PVA), Kamjong has appealed to the State Government to take immediate actions against an official posted at Phungyar Sub Division who allegedly shouted and hurled a pen at their headman during a meeting on May 5 last.
A press release signed by PVA said that the alleged incident took place in front of the village authority (VA) members and  Officer in Charge of Phungyar police station.
Such conduct is very unbecoming of an officer, it added.
Saying that some youth gathered to protest against his action following the incident, the village authority added that its members stopped the agitating youths and brought the situation under control.
It was agreed that the officer would tender an apology to the entire VA members and a pig would be paid to the village court within 3 days from the date of the agreement and the copy was delivered to the officer on May 6, said PVA.
Saying no response has come to date from the officer even after the expiry of the said period, the village authority urged the State Government to transfer the officer from Phungyar Sub Division.
