STS imposes restriction in view of COVID-19 situation

The Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (STS) or Monsang Naga Students Union has enforced various measures in Monsang villages in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in ther areas.
In a notification issued to this effect, STS has prohibited movement of commercial vehicles, entry of outsiders, especially labourers (non locals), sand miners, vendors without prior permission from concerned village authorities.
Unnecessary loitering at night and partying within the Monsang villages is also prohibited, it said.
The notification also said that mass gatherings including political and religious meetings, birthday parties etc should be put on hold in all Monsang villages.
It also made it mandatory to wear face masks, use of sanitizer and washing of hands at regular intervals.
Opening of local shops within Monsang jurisdiction is also strictly prohibited, it said.
Any individual or group defying the notification shall be responsible for any consequences and legal action shall be taken against them, it added while calling on all to adhere to the said restrictions.
