Random Covid tesing in Tura

SHILLONG, May 10: The West Garo Hills (WGH) district administration will begin random testing of people in the various localities of Tura Urban following a spurt of COVID – 19 cases in the town.
Through an order given out by the District Surveillance Officer (DSO), random testing would be carried out at Tura Bazaar, Belderpara, Lower Wadanang, Araimile, Chandmary, Chitoktak, Darenbibra (Jail Road) and Hawakhana to identify potential cases of COVID in the town.
The order, sent yesterday, has sought the support of the development committee of the above mentioned localities for the arrangement of testing venues as well as to inform people to come forward for the tests.
The tests will be undertaken on May 11.
