Kpi CSO Covid Task Force constituted

KANGPOKPI, May 10 : Following the surge in COVID-19 cases and fatality in the district, Kangpokpi CSO COVID Task Force was formed today during a meeting held at KSO Administrative Office building at Kangpokpi DHQs following strict SOPs and guidelines.
Kangpokpi CSO COVID Task Force was formed with an aim to assist the district administration, district police, Medical Department and other frontline workers in the fight against the dreaded pandemic for the wellfare and interest of the people with the acknowledgement of district administration.
With 16 strong members, Thangminlen Kipgen, Thangtinlen Haokip and Lhaitinneng Vaiphei were elected as Chairman, Secretary and Jt. Secretary of the task force respectively.
K Songreng Kom (7005447978), Thangminlen Kipgen (989868320501) and S Lienboi Vaiphei (8729901209) were entrusted as the contact point between the public and the committee or task force.
The joint meeting of the CSOs also decided that the task force shall oversee the preparation of the local representatives of the Assembly segment, the district administration, the district police and Medical Department to combat the second wave in the district apart from the preparation of all villages in the district.
The task force shall also embark on awareness campaign through various means such as social media, audio and video and bring out local Covid protocol according to the local situation.
The committee or task force shall have a review meeting time to time with the district administration, district police nd Medical Department in close coordination with the three MLAs of the district and act as a flag bearer between the district administration, Medical Department, police and the elected representatives for better coordination in tackling the dreaded pandemic.
The task force shall also monitor essential items supply in the district and ensure that there is no shortage of essential items at normal rate.
With 13 positive cases detected in the district today, the active cases stand at 74 while 5 Covid patients were discharged today. Among the 74 active case, two have been admitted at Covid hospital, three at CCC Leikop or Isolation Ward, sixty two are under home isolation, two reffered to CCC Imphal and five are in the isolation camp.
The cummulative death in the district stands at 21.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi town entered its fourth day of total lockdown which started on May 7. The lockdown will continue till May 13. All shops remained closed.
CSOs of Saikul under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai also announced total lockdown from May 12 till May 15 today. It also announced various local Covid protocols apart from the Government SOPs and guidelines.
Anyone found opening shops during the total lockdown shall be fined a sum of Rs. 20,000. Any type of gathering including marriage, Church activities shall be strictly restricted until further notice.
Local residents staying outside and willing to come home shall intimate to their respective village chief.
Meanwhile, as per district hospital source, almost all the available oxygen cylinders have been exhausted and need immediate refilling.
