DIMAPUR, May 21 : The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed “great” concern over the increasing rate of Covid-19 positive cases and the death in Nagaland.
Stating that it will give its fullest cooperation and support in combating Covid-19, NPF called upon the Government to be mentally, physically and be well equipped to fight the pandemic.
The party is of the view that the Government should make available the Covid-19 vaccine to all the citizens above the age of 18 and sensitize the importance of the vaccine as many people are still reluctant to take the vaccine, it said.
It is also of the opinion that all Covid-19 related issues be made free of cost, like testing, medicine and treatment. It further said that strict directives should be given to the village, wards and colonies.
It added, “As the COVID-19 positive cases are increasing each day, more hospital beds and medical equipment should be immediately arranged particularly in Dimapur and Kohima and even for other districts as the worst time is likely to hit the State if the present trend continues”. NPF also said that the Government should try to utilize all the retired doctors voluntarily.
