Nagaland on Saturday received 150 oxygen concentrators funded by the World Health Organisation (WHO). This came a day after the first batch of oxygen cylinders — including 400 jumbo and 800 B-type — procured by the State Government, was airlifted along with trucks by the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom took to Twitter to inform that the oxygen concentrators will be distributed on a need basis across all districts of the State and at strategic healthcare centres.
“We are extremely delighted to have received 150 Oxygen Concentrator from World Health Organization today. It will be distributed on need basis to all the Districts of the State and strategic health care centres,” the Minister tweeted.
The Health and Family Welfare Department also informed about the development on twitter. “Grateful for the contribution and assistance during this difficult times,” it said.
Meanwhile, a release from the State Government informed that random sampling and testing was carried out at Tuensang district; Tesophenyu under Tseminyu sub-division; Kohima district; Chozuba Town and surrounding blocks under CHC, Chozuba in Phek district; Jalukie Town in Peren district; Wakching Block, Tizit Block, and Mon Town in Mon district.
COVID-19 vaccination for persons aged 45 years and above was carried out at Longkhim Community Health Centre (CHC) under Longkhim Block in Tuensang district; CHC Chozuba, Phek district; Tamlu CHC, Yachem CHC, Yongnyah PHC, and District Hospital in Longleng district; and Aboi, Tizit, and District Hospital, Mon.
It informed that contact tracing session was carried in Longkim Town, Jalukie Town, and Longleng Town.
As per the data provided by the State Government, so far, 1,959 faith-based organisations/ church leaders across 774 villages in the State have been trained on management of mild COVID-19 symptoms at home by community cadres of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission.
