Meiraba withdraws from third international tournament this month

IMPHAL, May 25 : Manipur's Maisnam Meiraba Luwang has withdrawn from as many as three major international senior badminton tournaments including Austrian Open to be held from May 27 to 30, in the wake of the COVID-19 second wave in the country.
Ace shutler Meiraba had earlier also confirmed participation in 56 Portuguese International Championships 2021 (scheduled from May 6 to 9) and  'YONEX SLOVENIA INTERNATIONAL 2021' (scheduled from May 19 to 22 but had to withdraw considering the situation in the country.
Although Meiraba had pulled out of the three tournaments, he is continuously receiving training at Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bangalore in preparation of upcoming international tournaments slated to be held this year.
He is due to receive his first dose of Covid vaccine  next week in Bangalore.
