Virus should not go to rural areas: Neiphiu Rio

DIMAPUR, MAY 26: Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio said that the  government's priority  is not to allow the spread of coronavirus in the rural areas of Nagaland and for which the government is undertaking aggressive vaccination drive and also strengthening the primary health centres. He informed that Noklak was the only safe district where the virus has not penetrated. Rio disclosed it to the media persons on the sidelines during his visit to IHM on Tuesday.
Rio also said that the government is trying its best for strengthening the health care facilities in the State particularly Dimapur as the district accounts  for more than 60% Covid-19 cases with serious cases and some in ICU and ventilator for more than a month. He stated that the government was trying its best to take care of positive people living below poverty line and not putting additional burden to the common man by taking austerity measures.
Further, Rio announced that CISHR was chosen for construction of 176 bedded hospital with all required necessary infrastructures because of its reputation, expertise, manpower and minimal treatment cost. It was also agreed that profits realised would be invested in Nagaland, Rio said and expressed happiness while commenting that CISHR is doing very well.
