CHIC setup at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School

IMPHAL, May 8: MLA Karam Shyam opened a Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur for Langthabal Assembly Constituency today.
Opening the CHIC, MLA Karam Shyam said there has been 106 cases of COVID-19 in the AC, 11 were being treated at hospitals while 2 had succumbed to the virus. There are lot of problems on admitting patient at hospital these days, he added.
An amount of Rs 1.3 crore was utilised in setting up Community Quarantine Centre (CQC), distribution of relief materials and other activities during the first wave of the pandemic, he added.  70 lakhs of this said amount was from his MLA Local Area Development Fund while the remaining were from public and his contributions.
The CQC which was opened at the present site of CHIC was one of the most well maintained and equipped centres.
Karam Shyam added that he will support the Government decision to set up CHIC and will work for the welfare of the public. All supports and donations in kinds will be welcomed without any bias for political affiliations, he added.
He also urged everyone to stand together in the fight against COVID-19.
