IMPHAL, May 7
Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress' president, Dr Th Inaocha has condemned police's rudeness he faced when he was on his way home yesterday morning after buying some stuff including some medicines and masks from a wholesale shop in Imphal.
In a statement, the State's TMC president said that his vehicle was stopped yesterday at around 9 am by an on duty police officer near Iroishemba Forest Post.
He identified himself as the TMC leader and enquired the police officer if there was any problem, he said.
But the officer who came close to his (TMC president) driver's side had told to turn the vehicle back if he was a TMC leader and questioned why he had used flag post on his vehicle in a rude tone.
It was clearly an intimidation and harassment from a police officer who is meant to safeguard public property and lives, charged the State TMC president who also condemned the act of the police officer.
He further questioned whether movement was free for leaders of other political parties only and not for TMC leaders in the State.
While appealing the State Home Department to look into the matter, he added that the Home Department should take responsibility for any eventualities.
