NEPY demands action against Doctor and Government hospitals for negligence

North East Progressive Youth, Manipur State Unit (NEPY) sought action against Doctor, Government institutions/hospitals whose failure to provide medical attention to one P Masiiyi Mao led to his death on May 2.
P Masiiyi Mao, a third semester student of Don Bosco College, Maram and two other friends had met an accident at Kabinam on their way back home at Senapati on April 30th at around 6:00 PM. P Mayiisi Mao got first aid at Maram PHC and was rushed to Raj Medicity at around 11:30 PM on the same day. However they were told by the doctors there that no patients can be treated without getting a CVID-19 test, which the patient party did and as it turn out, the result came out positive with any symptoms, said a statement issued by NEPY.
A CT scan and X-ray were done and the doctors concluded he had a crack in the skull, internal bleeding and a broken arm and had just 24 hours to live without surgery, a surgery which the doctors at Raj Medicity denied from conducting, added the statement. He was rushed to Shija Hospital, RIMS and Little Hospital which all rejected from conducting the surgery for reasons known only to them.
P Masiiyi Mao was taken to JNIMS, where the patient party was told that JNIMS lacks the necessary equipment to save the patient and were told to take him to Little Hospital. The patient party took him to Little Hospital again only to be rejected and was brought back to JNIMS, added the statement.
After all this disheartening events, P Masiiyi Mao succumbed to his injuries and left his families and friends for his heavenly abode on May 2 at around 7:30 PM at his home town Senapati.
NEPY Manipur State Unit condoled his demise and shared the grief of his bereaved family.
