Government releases Rs 83.6 crore for job card wage

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Th Biswajit Singh urged District Programme Co-ordinator (DPC) and other relevant officials to ensure that wages of Job Card holders under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) reached the card holders as soon as possible.
Th Biswait said the Government had released Rs 83.6 crore as wage component under MGNREGS even though the State is facing financial burden with a view to relief the burden faced by the job card holders during this hard times.  He also added that the Government has always worked for the welfare of the job card holders and it will continue to do so.
There has been instance of some Zilla Parishad members and representatives from Panchayati Raj Institution trying to utilise fund meant for wage in other areas, this has to stop immediately and wages should reach the beneficiaries in time, he added. The Minister also warned that elected representatives or representatives of the institute cannot break the rule and do as they wish with such funds.
The Minister reminded that the recent protest by representatives of PRI was because of non-payment of wages for job card holders.
Th Biswajit also urged all the job card holders to raise the issue to relevant authority in case of non received of wages.
