PTFC-19 continues awareness campaign

IMPHAL, May 7
The People Task Force for COVID-19 (PTFC) continued to conduct awareness programmes to sensitize public about the COVID-19, guidelines and other measures issued by the State Government for public safety and to curb the spread of the virus.
As a part of its continuous effort, a team of PTFC-19 visited RD Wing-Lamphel, Primary Health Centre- Khumbong and Health and Wellness Centre-Phayeng to raise awareness about the importance of vaccination against the virus, a press release issued by the task force said.
The team also detected huge disregard for SOPs at RD Wing vaccination centre with people line up for their turn mostly in groups despite appeal by volunteers of a local club assisting the vaccination camp to maintain distance, it said with concern.
The vaccination centres at Phayeng and Khumbong were however seen observing SOPs, it said while appealing all to get vaccinated with strict adherence to SOPs.
If SOPs are not adhered to strictly, these vaccination centres could turn into super spreader spots, it said and appealed authorities concerned, local Covid task force, and clubs to ensure a safe vaccination to all.
PTFC-19 also went on to assure to conduct awareness programmes in other parts of the State.
