Assam Rifles celebrates 'World Red Cross Day'

World Red Cross Day is celebrated every year on 8th May to commemorate the principles of International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.  It is also day to draw attention of the public to the humanitarian activities carried out by Red Cross and its affiliated organizations.  
On this occasion the Medical officers, Nursing staff and other Para Medical staff of 44 ASSAM RIFLES under the aegis of 22 Sect AR/IGAR(E) conducted a COVID Awareness Program in Tamenglong town.
The unit displayed vehicle mounted posters aiming at spreading awareness about the importance of COVID vaccination and following COVID appropriate behaviours. The vehicle traversed through various lanes and by lanes of the town in its endeavour to reach out to the society even better than before.  
The main objective of awareness program included providing prompt, simple and focused communication on vaccine safety and timeliness ensuring understanding of importance of vaccination and building public confidence on the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
Audio messages were also played to attract the attention of all residents of the town. The unit COVID care Helpline Numbers were also displayed for wider publicity of the same.
In these helpline numbers 9862053455 and 03877267227 are operational 24x7 for anyone wanting help wrt TELEMEDICINE or seek medical expert advice related to COVID. Through it’s efforts the unit is ready to support the civil administration and public in spreading awareness about the pandemic.
