Curfew imposed in Ukhrul district for 10 days till May 17

Ukhrul , May 8: In view of increasing trends in COVID-19 cases in Manipur, the Ukhrul District Administration has imposed a curfew in Ukhrul district from May 8 till May 17.
As per the statement issued by District Magistrate, Joseph Pauline Kamson, the restriction  has been imposed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
However, the order would not be applied to the agencies of the Government Department(s) involved in enforcement of law and order along with the following activities- All Healthcare facilities including animal healthcare, Hospitals, Clinics, Nursing homes; all pharmacies; persons going out for Covid testing and vaccination and medical emergencies; All employees and personal staff working in Media, Power, Fire Service, PHED, CAF&PD, Home, Health, Relief & Disaster Management, Police Departments and Police Administration.
Goods vehicles, Oxygen supply related vehicles, LPG & Oil Tankers and vehicles of other essential services, water supply, waste/garbage clearance, public distribution system, medical/Covid services, Electronic and Print Media, internet and telecom service providers and vehicles of personal departments/organization were also permitted to be functional.
Moreover, Petrol pumps and LPG outlets and movements of staff of IOCL were continued to be permitted. Hotels for lodging would also be operational with minimum staff.
Any violation of the order would be liable for punishment as per notification issued by the Home Department, Government of Manipur.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate as Incident Commanders along with District Police Officers would ensure that the orders are strictly enforced in the district.
Meanwhile, the Additional District Magistrate, Jessami yesterday declared the whole Jessami village as a containment area restriction entry and exit of people from the area.
