Six localities in Thoubal declared as containment zones

THOUBAL, May 7
Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal district declared Khangabok Mayai Leikai, Uyal Mamang Leikai and Lamding Laishram Leikai of Khangabok A/C, Langathel Khuman Leikai (Wangjing Tentha A/C), Babu Bazar and Kiyam Wangmatama of Wangkhem A/C as containment zones.
The order has been issued in view of the surge in Covid positive cases in Thoubal district and the impending threat of COVID-19 pandemic in their respective houses/areas to prevent the further spread of the disease.
The above mentioned localities have been sealed and imposed a ban on entry and exit of people from the containment areas.
Also initiated active surveillance of COVID-19 cases (atleast 30 contacts).
The order further mentioned that any person/institution/organisation found violating any of the containment measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punsihable under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.
