1 more person succumb to COVID-19 in CCPur; death toll touches 53

CHURACHANDPUR , May 9
The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Churachandpur has climbed to 53 with one more person succumbing to the disease while another 29 positive cases were reported today.
The latest victim, aged 72 succumbed to COVID-19 at Churachandpur District Hospital, taking the cumulative COVID-19 death in the district to 53 (35M/18F), as per the statement issued by District Information Officer, Churachandpur.
Meanwhile, among the 29 new infected cases reported in the last 24 hours, 18 were male and 11 were female.
A total of 18 persons (10M/8F), out of 78 persons tested, were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in the Rapid Antigen Test at District Hospital and other testing sites.
Besides, out of the 104 samples tested in RT PCR, 11 persons (5 military personnel & 6 local) were found positive for COVID-19.
As per the information provided by the District Health and District Hospital authorities, the number of beds at dedicated COVID-19 centre, District Hospital, Churachandpur as of now is only 20, in which 19 are occupied.
The number of COVID-19 patients on oxygen support is 15.
The total number of active cases in the district is 247 which includes 159 male and 88 female.
It may be mentioned that 44 D Type Cylinders are available as of date at the District Hospital while 14 D Type and 5 B Type empty cylinders have been sent for refill to Central medical stores.
11 filled oxygen cylinders are in stock and 19 cylinders are currently in use.
