Rainforest Club appeals to roll back transfer order of Dr Chambo Gonmei

TAMENGLONG , May 9
The Rainforest Club Tamenglong, in a statement issued today, appealed to the concerned authority to roll back the transfer order of Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO Tamenglong.
The club highlighted the crucial role played by Dr Chambo Gonmei in combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the district and mentioned that the people of Tamenglong are still in need of his guidance.
Dr Chambo is the Honorary Wildlife Warden for Tamenglong. He founded the Rainforest Club Tamenglong, a local NGO for the conservation of wildlife and the indigenous communities, it added.
The Club stated that the sudden transfer order of Dr Chambo Gonmei would leave the future and all the ongoing works at risk. His absence would create an imbalance in the ongoing projects which could be detrimental to any progress made so far by the community.
It alleged that the removal of a CMO and transferring him during the pandemic to another district is not only careless but also unfair.
The Rainforest Club further mentioned that the appointment of CMO incharge in a hasty manner would leave an imbalance in the healthcare system of the district especially considering the limited number of  healthcare staff and the surging cases of  COVID-19 infection in the second wave.
