Condolences pour in over demise of boxing legend Dingko

Condolences continued to pour in from sections of the society over the demise of boxing legend Ngangom Dingko yesterday.
The Social Sporting Club, Sekta, in its condolence message mourned the demise of the late Asian Games gold medalist, recipient of Padma Shree Award and Arjuna Award and former SAI boxing coach.
Dingko was an executive member of the club, it said while adding that the club, Mayai Loisang Apunba Pana, Apunba Meira Paibi and Village Development Committee Sekta are deeply saddened by his passing away and prayed for his soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
The void created by the demise of Dingko, who was an inspiration to many for his patience and diligence, will be difficult to fill in, the club said.
The Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) also expressed shock over the untimely demise of the boxing legend.
His dedication and display of highest performance in boxing for the Country will be cherished forever, the MOA said. The association also conveyed deepest condolences and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
The Imphal East District Amateur Boxing Association, Bishnupur District Amateur Boxing Association and Boxing Academy-Lamlai Kendra too expressed grief over the passing away of the former boxing icon.
