Further remand for uploading explicit contents on WhatsApp group

IMPHAL, Jun 19 : Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West on Saturday remanded Kanchui Mangkung (27), who was arrested for allegedly uploading sexually explicit contents in a Whatapp group to judicial custody.
Kanchui Mangkung s/o (L) Jonathan of Sorbung Village Kamjong district, currently staying at New Checkon was produced before the Court by a team of Imphal Police after completion of his police remand with a prayer for judicial remand.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that the said group with no name but having three balls logo and semi nude picture as the profile was created by the accused on March 23.
The group has about 255 members.
The IO maintained that the group was created at the request of the members of the Facebook group "Kanglei Imagi……… Nupising."
The IO further alleged that the accused used to provide girls as intoxicating items to the members of the WhatApp group in exchange for money.
The accused and the group members also used to exchange/provide mobile numbers of girls by using telegram (a mobile application), the IO claimed.
The Court after hearing the submission of the IO and on perusal of the case record and material placed before the Court remanded the accused to judicial custody till July 3.
