CM, hockey assns greet Nilakanta, Sushila

IMPHAL, Jun 18
Manipur's Nilakanta was named among the Indian National Men's hockey team for the Tokyo Games a day after Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam made it to the women's squad.
Manipur Hockey, in a press release congratulated both of the players for making their place in the Indian men's and women's hockey team.
It is a proud moment for the State of Manipur and all hockey lovers of the State that two of the players are in the Olympic squad, said Manipur Hockey in the release.
Wishing for best performances, Manipur Hockey also prayed for both the players to bring laurels to the State and the Nation.
CM N Biren too wishes
CM N Biren also took it to Facebook to congratulate both the players on being included in the National teams. He wrote, "Congratulations Pukhrambam Sushila Chanu and Nilakanta Sharma on making it to India’s Women and Men’s Hockey squad respectively for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic. I’m very proud that many young athletes from Manipur will be representing our country in the world stage. I wish you all the best and may your hard work and dedication bring laurels to the Nation."
Hockey Manipur also expressed happiness over the selection of the State players and extended them best wishes to perform well at the biggest international sporting event.
