Ukhrul , Jun 19: Yang Raphei Conference (YRC) today reacted sharply to the allegations levelled by the Manipur Congress Committee president, Govindas Ningthoujam against the Chief Minister of Manipur for looting the pockets of poor people in regards to price hike of petrol in the State.
YRC termed the continuous hurling of  immature statements against the State Government as unfortunate especially during the health crisis.
YRC president, Shimreishang Haorei in a statement, mentioned that the incumbent Government under the leadership of N Biren Singh, in spite of all the odds have been working tirelessly to control the pandemic situation in the State. He urged all the concerned stakeholders to shed their differences and come together in fighting the dreaded disease.
Mudslinging among the leaders of the State at this critical moment is not a healthy development as it would hamper the fight against the pandemic, he added.
It is well known that every country is on the brink  of economic collapse due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At this juncture, millions of citizens are in panic with the increasing number of fatalities, he added.
Shimreishang Haorei continued that the State through the visionary policies of Chief Minister N Biren has been fighting since the beginning of the pandemic. However, the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic would not be successful without the assistance from all corners.
YRC appealed to the State Government to work with sincerity and commitment to ensure the safety of the people.
YRC further urged the Opposition parties to contribute their wisdom through constructive suggestions to contain the Covid-19 pandemic  and restore normalcy in the State.
