IMPHAL, Jun 19 : Manipur recorded the lowest number of death in a day during the current month of June with 6 deaths in the last 24 hours. On June 9, the State reported 7 deaths while on June 15 the fatality figure was 8.  With 592 persons testing positive in the last 24 hours, the case fatality rate for the day stands at 1.64 percent.
The deaths were from Imphal West (1), Imphal East (3) and Kakching (2) and were reported from RIMS (1), JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (1) and Babina (2).  With six more, the cumulative figure of deaths now stands at 1039.
On the other hand a total of 592 including 3 Central security personnel returned positive results in the last 24 hours.
The positive cases were detected at RIMS (16), JNIMS (35), District Hospitals (357) and other testing centres (184).
The 589 positive cases from amongst the general population were drawn from Imphal East (102), Imphal West (160), Thoubal (64), Bishnupur (57), Kakching (65), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (38), Chandel (1), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (47), Kangpokpi (29), Kamjong (1) and Jiribam (1).
The positivity rate is a high of 10.07 percent.
Precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
On the other hand, 294 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours out of which 170 from home isolation, 5 from RIMS, 4 from JNIMS, and the 115 from Covid Care Centres. The cumulative number of recovered cases stands at 52,961 (general population-49,200 and Central security personnel-3761).
The number of active cases now stand at 9,538 (general population-9502 and Central security personnel-36). The recovery rate is 83.35 percent.
The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 63,538 (general population-59,736 and Central security personnel-3802).
In the last 24 hours a total of 2049 D-Type Oxygen cylinders and 452 B-Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
The total number of people persons who have been vaccinated is 4,89,577.
