The 7th International Yoga Day was observed by security forces deployed in the State today with active participation by officers, personnels and family members at various locations.
Indian Army/Spear Corps
The soldiers of the Spear Corps deployed on the Eastern most frontier of the country celebrated the 7th International Yoga Day with great fervour and enthusiasm.  Welcoming the first rays of sunlight illuminating the national landscape, the soldiers displayed immaculate flexibility and balance during conduct of various asanas, said a statement issued by PIB Defence Wing.
Without letting the COVID-19 situation dampen their spirits, Yoga was practised in small groups with full adherence to COVID protocols in accordance with Common Yoga Protocol.  The theme being “Yoga for Wellness”, meditation and breathing techniques were incorporated in the practise, added the statement.
Border Security Force
Border Security Force under SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Manipur observed 7th International Yoga Day today at Koirengei under the theme 'Yoga for Well Being'.
The celebration at Koirengei campus was led by DS Rawat, DIG Sector HQ Manipur and was attended by all officers and troops including the family members of BSF Sector HQ, said a statement issued by BSF today.
Yoga was performed by everyone attending the celebration under the guidance of Yoga Instructors. All other BSF units spread across the State also observed the event at their respective locations.
Numbers of banners and hoarding on the benefits of Yoga were also displayed in selected places in Koirengei campus and all other CI posts.
Subsidiary Training Centre, Border Security Force, Churachandpur also celebrated 'International Yoga Day' under the theme 'Be with Yoga, Be at Home' today.
The celebration was led by Praja Babu Singh (IPS), Inspector General, STC BSF Churachandpur and was also participated by about 053 participants including officers, subordinate officers, jawans and families. Newly recruited constables from various parts of the country especially J&K and Leh, Ladakh also took part in the event.
113 Battalion BSF, Tactical HQ, Loktak also celebrated 'International Yoga Day' led by their commandant Hidam Shubol Singh.
Central Reserve Police Force
69 Battalion CRPF also observed 'World Yoga Day' today at Battalion HQ, Mantripukhri under the supervision of Bajrang Lal, Commandant, 69 Battalion, CRPF.
The observation was attended by all the unit officers, SO and personnel, said a statement issued by Commandant 69 Battalion CRPF.
The commandant highlighted the importance of Yoga in daily life and urged all the personnel to inculcate the habit in their daily life, added the statement.
Assam Rifles
In consonance with the initiative started by the Government of India, Headquarters IGAR South, Mantripukhri and all sectors under the aegis of IGAR(South) also celebrated 7th International Yoga Day today.
The event was organised with an aim to encourage the troops and families to inculcate yoga in their lifestyles and promote health amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The event was conducted at Mantripukhri, Imphal, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Kakching, Moreh, Pallel, Chandel, Sendra and various remote locations of Manipur. The event proceeded with creating awareness about COVID-19 preventive measures followed by various yoga asanas and lectures by medical officers on physical and mental health, added the statement.
Assam Rifles of Maram Battalion under the aegis of Jwalamukhi Sector/IGAR (E) celebrated 7th International Yoga Day at its Headquarters.
With the help of Yoga instructors of the unit, Battalion conducted a Yoga workshop for four days commencing from Jun 18 to Jun 21. All jawans, families and children actively participated in the Yoga workshop, said a statement.
At the same time, locals were contacted virtually over social media platforms and shared Yoga clips performed by Yoga Instructors.
People were also encouraged to use the Namaste Yoga App recently launched by the Ministry of Ayush on the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day.
