MSPDCL employees briefed on range of matters on 'Webinar'

The employees of the Manipur State Power District Company Limited (MSPDCL) today were briefed of a range of matters via a webinar organised in association with Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development, Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
Former Senior Inspector, RK Balaram Singh thoroughly explained about Trade Unions Act-1926 and to the members of the MSPDCL Engage Employees Union, said a statement of MSPDCLEEU.
Service protection of employees and lack of protection when association of employees registered under 'Co-Operative Society' carry out agitation as mentioned in the Section 18 (I) and (II) of the Trade Unions Act-1926 were elucidated thoroughly during the webinar, it said.
Matter such as social security of contract employees were also clearly described by Regional Director in-charge of DTNBWE, N Somorenjit Singh, it said while adding that the webinar was conducted to give a moral boost to the employees of MSPDCL as Covid warriors during this challenging time.
Secretary of AMTUC, Babloo Wahengbam, while attending the webinar had called on all to shun any mode of agitation in wake of the pandemic situation and support the Government towards fighting the pandemic, it said.
MSPDCLEEU president had also summarized the activities taken up by the union and shared his experiences and learnings from partaking triennial conferences of Bharatiya Theka Mazdoor Mahasangh and other events and leadership training programmes, it said.
Discussions pertaining to customer service, demand to clear pending salary were also discussed, it said.
The union also thanked Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development for providing a platform to discuss and learn many topics via the webinar.
