IMPHAL, Jun 22 : After reporting the number of deaths in single digit for three days on the trot, Manipur returned to the daily count of two digits in deaths with 10 more falling victim to the virus in the last 24 hours.
At the same time, the number of infection also returned to the 500 plus count with 575 including four Central security personnel testing positive in the last 24 hours.
On the positive side is the report of the slight increase in the recovery rate which now stands at 84.18 percent up from the 83.92 percent recorded on June 21. More than 5 lakh people have also received their vaccination jabs.
If 575 new infection cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, then Manipur saw 649 recovered cases during the same period to help take the overall recovery rate to 84.18 percent.
According to a statement issued by the COVID-19 Control Room, the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 10 deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours.
The deaths were drawn from Imphal West (2), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1).
They passed away at RIMS (3), JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (2), Churachandpur District Hospital (1) and SDH, Moreh (1).
The cumulative number of deaths is now 1065.
On the other hand the 575 positive cases were detected at RIMS (47), JNIMS (25), District Hospitals (338) and other testing centres (165).
The 575 cases were detected out of a total of 4791 persons tested in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate continues to be in double digit with 12 percent.
The 571 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (100), Imphal West (224), Thoubal (67), Bishnupur (28), Kakching (43), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (30), Chandel (21), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (8), Tengnoupal (7), Jiribam (16), Kangpokpi (9), Kamjong (2), Pherzawl (2) and Noney (1).
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the COVID-19 Control Room.
The cumulative number of positive cases is now 64,993 (general population-61,187 and Central security personnel-3806) and the number of active cases is 9214 (general population-9174 and Central security personnel-40).
In the last 24 hours a total of 649 persons were discharged including 335 from home isolation, 5 from RIMS, 5 from JNIMS, 170 from Covid Care Centres and 134 from CHICs.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 54,714 (general population-50,953, Central security personnel-3761).
In the last 24 hours a total of 1740 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 337 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities across the State.
The total number of persons who have received the vaccination jabs is 500408.
