FEGOCTA raises 7th Pay demand again

IMPHAL, Jun 22 : The Federation of Government College Teachers Associations (FEGOCTA) has urged the State Government to issue an order for implementing 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018 by June 30.
In a statement, the federation cautioned that the Government college teachers including those in Dhanamanjuri University may resort to boycott of online classes and examinations if the demand is not entertained.
FEGOCTA, 'the apex body of the Government College teachers in Manipur' however said that it will for the time being, continue to take online classes and examinations in the interest of students, and informed that online lectures of 6th/4th/2nd Semesters of BA/BSc with notes are available on FEGOCTA website www.fegocta.org and the same can be seen on YouTube also. The online classes are in full swing from June 14, 2021, it said and added that the Higher Education Department should take full responsibility for any disturbances caused to the online classes after June 30, 2021.
Stating that a memorandum highlighting the decisions of FEGOCTA. was submitted on June 21, 2021, to the Education Minister, Chief Secretary, Secretary to Chief Minister and the Commissioner of Higher Education, FEGOCTA claimed that the Higher Education Department has failed to honour and implement the MoU of March 6, 2021, Cabinet approval of March 27, 2021 and assurances given by the Chief Minister and Education Minister on February 9, 2021.
