Brothers killed in boat capsize

Bishnupur, Jun 21 : Two of three brothers from Kumbi Uyungmakhong were killed in a boat capsize incident this morning at around 5.30.
The said incident reportedly occurred when Solomon (17), David (15) and Joshua (13), all brothers born to Laishram Chandrakumar and Laishram ongbi Sangita of Kumbi Uyungmakhong were riding a boat over Khuga River en route to their paddy field across the river.
 After the boat capsized, only David (the middle borther) managed to swim towards the river bank and told locals that Solomon and Joshua were missing after the boat capsized.
The bodies of the two brothers were later fished out by locals and rushed to PHC Kumbi. They were pronounced dead by a doctor posted at the health centre.
Both have been cremated at their locality.
In the meantime, Kumbi Urban Development Committee (KUDC) has expressed shock over the incident wherein two siblings had died and shared grief of the bereaved parents and family.
The committee also appealed to the State Government to extend all possible support to the family in loss.
