IMPHAL, Jun 23
This is not the time to engage in petty politics and play blame games to earn brownie points when the people are struggling for survival.
All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) said this in a statement issued today and added that till now 64993 people have been affected by COVID-19 while 1065 precious lives have been lost in the State. The conditions have been improving in most other States of the country and some states have even started the unlock process while Manipur is still in the danger zone. Experts are also pointing to a 'third wave' in a month or two which may add more woes to the already suffering people of the state, added the statement.
At such a critical juncture, it is unbecoming of the BJP and Congress to go on a verbal duel, it said and added that such petty politics should be left aside in the face of the grim situation. AMYPCO said that the final say on which party is better should be left to the public. Blame games will only compound the situation and not help anyone, it added.
