My passion for mining wisdom

We can see many differences between hundreds of years ago and today’s world. So many changes occurred and so many things got buried or forgotten eventually. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by old stories and magical things which were believed to have existed long ago. I like to learn and listen to stories about such things. Are you also interested in such things ?
As I think about it, sadly our generation seems to neglect our old traditions and culture. I am just in grade 9, and I know when I say ‘today’s generation’ – I sound like a hypocrite but trust me, I am not that young as you think.  So I thought it might be a good topic to begin with. As I noticed about such things, every place seems to have its own tradition, where many took care of cultivating it down to the next generation. But there were changes, inevitable changes.
A lot says we should not go ahead with the change just to keep up with the originality but trust me, I feel like it’s not just a regular change but something that happens for watering the status of relativity. If we lived exactly like those before BC, we are clearly not adapting. So, as the old saying goes, “Change is the only thing that’s constant.”
I remember my father telling me the things his grandparents told him about the wars and other important events that occurred during his time. How his grandparents used to teach him how to do basic chores around the house and also shared the old folktales and sang old lullabies before he went to sleep. He was quite fascinated by how much effort his grandparents put just to teach him all those things.
Grandparents or elder people in general used to be a chance to pass down knowledge from generations to generations but not any longer. Now everything is just one google search away. Younger people or the technologically advanced generation, as we call ourselves, use the internet to find out how to do even simple things like tying a shoelace, ironing a shirt, cleaning the house, etc.
But one thing that we can’t find on the internet is the wise wisdom that an elder can pass down to you. So I like to ask older people about the things that they experienced. I am so young and very new to the social media world. I see a lot of people posting with traditional attires on their social media accounts.
Most importantly, there are few I know how they are in both the social media and real world. I promise, those who never wear ‘phanek’ in real life posted over 50 pictures with traditional attires. Technology has been watering those who love putting two faces. Well, I will not take you long in this article, I just wanna say that tradition and culture should be starting from home not social media. Knowledge is a google search away but wisdom is an elder away.
Let’s start talking to people who have experienced life, for I am just new and I am ready to explore. Lastly, stay home & stay safe, for victory is just a wave away.
