Positivity rate up

KOHIMA, Jul 18 : The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in Nagaland increased to 8% this week compared to 6% last week.
Four districts in total have reported a weekly positivity rate of more than 10%: Kohima (22%), Mokokchung (17%), Longleng (11%), and Kiphire (12%).
“Weekly new cases have increased for the first time in 7 weeks. The State remains yet again at an overly critical juncture,” the Health Department informed.
Data released by the Health Department showed that 79 admissions to COVID-19 hospitals were made in the past week. It informed that hospital admissions remained constant for the last 5 weeks and did not show a decline.
It also informed that 99.5% of COVID-19 deaths in Nagaland are not fully vaccinated and 88% of deaths were not vaccinated even by a single dose and even among those who were vaccinated by a single dose, it is not determined yet if 2 weeks had passed after the vaccination.
Meanwhile, total confirmed cases in Nagaland increased to 26,576 after 100 fresh cases were detected on Saturday. As another five COVID-19 deaths have been reported, the death toll increased to 510. However, the total number of recovered cases increased to 24,205 as 60 patients recovered from COVID-19 on Saturday.
