COVID-19 : Vaccination cum awareness programme held

Ukhrul, Jul 24 : A free vaccination cum awareness programme on COVID-19 was conducted today at Wunghon Village, Ukhrul District.
The programme was organised by COVID-19 Awareness and Enforcement Committee of the 44/AC Ukhrul in collaboration with the Wunghon Village Covid Task Force.
SDO Ukhrul, David Kashung, ADC Ukhrul, Graceson Varu, EO Ukhrul, Dr AS Kapangring, CMO District Hospital, Ukhrul and others attended the programme.
Sweeten Raihing, Headman of Wunghon village and 43 villagers took their 1st dose of Covid vaccine. Around 90 people from New Canaan, Mayophung, Leiyaram, Muirei and Wunghon participated in the programme.
Today, a total of 196 people were vaccinated in Ukhrul district. The cumulative number of people vaccinated now stands at 21,295.
Kashung said that no one should take the hard work done by the Medical team for granted. He encouraged the participants to listen carefully to the doctors and spread the right information.
The CMO said that they came to clarify the misunderstandings on COVID vaccine.
He further stated that the only way to defeat this pandemic is through vaccination.
Wungreiyo Wungmarong, the programme conductor, expressed gratitude to the District Administration and Medical Department for reaching out to the unreached.
