'Honour S Mirabai Chanu with an officer's post'

Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur appealed to the Governor of Manipur to honour weightlifter, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu with a post of an officer's rank not lower than a SP.
In a press release AIMS, extended heartiest congratulation to Saikhom Mirabai Chanu for creating history by winning India's first medal at the Tokyo Olympics. She won the silver medal at Tokyo Olympics in Women's 49 kg.
AIMS also congratulated her family, coaches and her team.
Lauding her for this historical feat, AIMS appealed to the Government of Manipur to honour her with an officer's rank not lower than a SP, to provide a residence in Imphal area where she can get better accessibility to create more records in future bouts and to establish a weightlifting institute under the guidance of her to produce more players in future.
