IMPHAL, Jul 24 : For the second successive day, after the total curfew was imposed on July 18 to curb the spread of the virus, Manipur recorded mover 1000 new positive cases with 1198 people returning positive results in the last 24 hours.
Manipur had also recorded in excess of the 1000 mark when it recorded 1248 new cases on July 23.
Earlier on July 20 the State had reported 1127 new cases and on July 21 it reported 1327 positive cases, which remains the highest in a single day till now.
The daily positivity rate on July 21 with 19.4 percent is also the highest till date.
With 1198 more people testing positive for the virus, the cumulative number of positive cases has gone up to 91,460 including 3962 Central security personnel.
The 1198 new cases include one Central security personnel and out of the remaining cases, women accounted for 594 positive cases.
The new cases were detected out of a total 7068 samples tested to take the daily positivity rate to 16.9 percent.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Rooms said that 14 people passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The deceased were from  Imphal West (8), Imphal East (1), Bishnupur (3) and Churachandpur (2).
The total number of deaths is now 1465 and out of the 14 deceased, 8 persons had comorbidities, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room. And out of the 14 who passed away, only 4 had received their first dose vaccination.
The 1198 positive cases were detected at RIMS (12), JNIMS (103), District Hospitals (843) and other testing centres (240).
The 1197 positive cases from amongst the general population are from Imphal East (292), Imphal West (301), Thoubal (193), Bishnupur (88), Kakching (52), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (134), Chandel (39), Senapati (26), Tamenglong (18), Tengnoupal (6), Kangpokpi (25), Kamjong (3), Pherzawl (2), Jiribam (6) and Noney (9).
Necessary measures including containment and contact tracings are in place, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
During the last 24 hours, a total of 872 persons were discharged. They were discharged from home isolation (456), RIMS (34), JNIMS (6), CCCs (184) and CHICs (192).
The total number of recovered cases has gone up to 79,744 including 3897 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 10,251 including 60 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 87.19 percent.  On July 23, a total of 29,359 people received their vaccination jabs to take the total number of vaccinated people to 1164069 including 1,53,167 people who have received their second dose.
A total of 1677 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 368 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
