Trending on Twitter, 107000 followers gained on Instagram

IMPHAL, Jul 24 : With Mirabai Chanu opening the tab for Indian medal tally at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Mirabai Chanu's popularity on the social media has multiplied manifold.
On Instagram, Mirabai Chanu (@mirabai_chanu) had a fan following of about 42,000 till morning today but by 8 pm, it had risen to 149,000 followers, gaining more than 107000 followers in a span of about 7-8 hours after she won the Silver medal for the country.
Twitter went crazy with #MirabaiChanu trending at Number 1 in India from the moment she won the medal until now. All the Top 5 ranks in 'Twitter Trending' were all about Mirabai Chanu.
