Saikhom Mirabai Chanu hailed for her historic feat

IMPHAL, Jul 25
Rejoicing over the historic feat of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu winning a Silver medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olypmics 2020 yesterday, many organisations of the State expressed joy and continued to congratulate her.
All Manipur Students Guardians Organisation congratulated Saikhom Mirabai Chanu for making the State proud by opening the medal tally of India and creating history.
Calling her the shining star of Manipur, the organisation appealed to the State Government to designate her with an officer's post equivalent to a SP rank.
A team of Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council led by its State secretary L Sotinkumar visited the residence of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu at Nongpok Kakching in Lamlai AC today and met her parents and congratulated them and presented them with traditional shawls.
The Party expressed that it is a proud moment for the State and said that its the result of her relentless efforts despite all the hardships.
Staff of UCO Bank, Lamlong also visited the residence of S Mirabai Chanu and presented her parents with a memento  and Lengyan phee as a part of celebration on the joyous occasion and wished success in all her future endeavours.
United Front Manipur and All Manipur Sports Association also joined in congratulating Saikhom Mirabai Chanu.
The organisations in separate statements expressed pride and wished her success in future.
