Online legal awareness programme held

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bishnupur under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) on Monday organised an online discussion programme on the topic "Beneficial scheme for victims of COVID-19 pandemic and role of Legal service functionaries" through Jitsi Meet application for PLVs and Panel lawyers of DLSA Bishnupur.
The panel members for the programme included W Tonen Meitei, District & Session Judge, Bishnupur cum Chairman DLSA Bpr and Ch Momon Singh, Advocate; Mala Lisham, Programme officer (SCPS), Department of Social Welfare, Manipur.
It was moderated by Margaret Niangsiamkim. Judicial Magistrate First Class cum Civil Judge, Junior Division, Bishnupur.
Later, an interaction session was also held between the panel members and the participants.
CHANDEL
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel also organised an online legal awareness programme on COVID-19 related schemes, with specific focus on CM's Covid Affected Livelihood Scheme and Angang gi Tengbang, for Chandel and Tengnoupal district.
It was attended by Judicial officers, PLVs, panel lawyers and representatives of NGOs.
The programme began with a welcome address by Lamkholal Kipgen, secretary DLSA Chandel while Aribam Guneshwar Sharma, District & Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman, DLSA Chandel gave the keynote address.
Ch Momon, advocate, also attended the programme as a resource person.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Arshad Saeed Shah, JMFC, Moreh.
SENAPATI
DLSA, Senapati in association with Community Network for Empowerment (CoNE), Manipur and under the aegis of MASLSA also organised a one day online awareness cum interaction programme with the Police officers of Senapati and Kangpokpi, CSOs, Panel Lawyers, PLVs of DLSA, Senapati today.
The programme was attended by Samom Ibjen, Chairman, DLSA, Senapati; A Tarunakumari Devi, Secretary, DLSA, Senapati; Koshia Mao, Additional Public Prosecutor to District & Sessions Court, Senapati; Ningombam Sofiarani Devi, JMFC, Kangpokpi; Police Officers of Senapati and Kangpokpi District; S Marysena, Retainer Lawyer, Front Office of DLSA, Senapati; Panel Lawyers and PLVs of Senapati.
Speaking on the occasion, Nalinikanta Rajkumar, president, CoNE, Manipur stressed on the topic “Criminalization of drug users as a threat to health and social development”.
Later, an interaction session was also conducted with the participants.
