IMPHAL, Jul 26 : Expenses on meals and for engagement of nurses in Community Home Isolation Centres (CHICs) will be borne by the Government.
In an order issued today, the Government said that wages/honorarium of nurses engaged in CHICs will be borne by the Government and CHICs with capacity of upto 100 beds can engage 1 nurse while those above 100 beds can engage 2 nurses.
Expenses on meals, both lunch and dinner (including 500 ml packaged drinking water bottle), will also be borne by the Government at Rs 100-130/person per meal. The CHIC management committee has to identify local caterers and include the details in agreement signed with DC/CMO.
However, the order added that the Government will only bear the expenses on meals for fresh admissions to CHIC starting from the effective date to be specified in the agreement. For this purpose, DC and CMO have to enter into suitable agreement with CHIC management committee with CMO and CHIC management committee maintaining full account of persons admitted to the CHIC, added the order.
All district CMOs also should constitute a Mobile Medical team to attend to any specific health check-up requirements. DCs/CMOs are also to coordinate with elective representatives/local clubs so that all fresh positive cases, including in rural/remote areas are isolated in village community halls, school buildings, club halls etc and the Government will also bear the expenses for meals for such cases too, added the order.
