Shiv Sena on polls

President of Shiv Sena State unit M Tombi has stated that Manipur Democratic Alliance is all set to stage a triangular contest in the forthcoming Assembly election  against the ruling BJP and Congress.
M Tombi said this during a felicitation  ceremony of  4 Congress members who joined Shiv Sena at Babupara, today.
The four Congress members who joined Shiv Sena are Thangjam Shyam, former president of Youth Congress; Okram Ibohanbi, former chief organiser of MPCC Seva Dal; Senjam Mangoljao, advisor Congress Seva Dal and Thokchom Bhubon, former secretary of Manipur State Panchayat.
After welcoming the 4 new members to the party fold, M Tombi, who is also a convenor of MDA, stated that a meeting will be convened shortly for seat adjustment as all political partners of the alliance want to field their candidates .
Saying that Shiv Sena is considering fielding 18-20 candidates in the Assembly polls with special emphasis on women, he added that  there will be a triangular fight among the BJP, Congress and MDA.
Charging that Congress is inadequate as a party in the Opposition bench, he added that it was also Congress that shifted 8 Constituencies from the valley to Outer Parliamentary Constituency and certain polling stations from Uripok to Lamsang AC.
He also appealed to all political parties not to give their ticket to turncoats contesting election for personal gain.
MDA is a political alliance made up of nine parties.
