'Control exorbitant price hike of essential commodities' says All Manipur Nupi Marup

Expressing concern over the exorbitant price hike of essential commodities amid the curfew imposed by the State to curb the further spread of COVID-19, the All Manipur Nupi Marup earnestly appealed to all businessman and traders to stop increasing the prices of essential commodities on the grounds of curfew.
In a press release, All Manipur Nupi Marup urged the State Government to check and control the price hike of essential items considering the plights of the general masses.
Stating the people of the State are gruelling due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic since many are deprived of their regular source of income, the All Manipur Nupi Marup expressed that the women in particular who takes the responsibility of running a household are finding it difficult to manage due to inflated cost of essential items.
However, the authorities concerned who are supposed to control and check such illegal practices of exorbitant price hike have been a silent spectator which has added more woes to the problems of the already suffering people, continued the statement.
In view of such grim scenario, the All Manipur Nupi Marup demanded that those involved in such activities should be punished and the authorities concerned should take up immediate measures to stop it.
Also the women body also appealed all concerned to check the prices of fertilizers and ensure that fertilizers are provided to farmers at subsidized rates and there is no shortage of fertilizers.
