Many laud Saikhom Mirabai Chanu

TPL/KPI, Jul 26: Meitei Council Moreh on Monday congratulated Padma Shri, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, who won the first silver medal in the 49-kg category in the Tokyo Olympics.
Calling her the shining star of Manipur, Moreh Council Moreh stated that Saikhom Mirabai Chanu has made the State proud by opening the medal tally of India and creating history.
MCM also extended its best wishes to all the other athletes  of the State representing India at the Tokyo Games.
Moreover, the All Tribal Students' Union Manipur also expressed sincere appreciation and congratulated Saikhom Mirabai Chanu for winning the Silver Medal in Women's 49 Kg category 'Weightlifting' on July 24 at the Tokyo Olympic.
ATSUM's Youth Affairs and Sports secretary, Lamcha Chongloi said that Mirabai Chanu has not only made the State proud but the nation as a whole by clinching a Silver medal in the Olympic games.
He also wished the five athletes from the State representing the Nation in the Tokyo Olympic 2020 the very best and success.
The Thadou Women's Association also congratulated Mirabai Chanu on her immense success and prayed for success in her future endeavours while adding that she is the most excellent example for all the women in India.
